care instructions

To ensure you have a long lasting soy candle, you should know the following information:

CANDLE CARE INSTRUCTIONS
  • When lighting a soy candle for the first time, allow the wax to melt all the way to the sides of the container.
  • The first burn of the candle should last as long as it takes to reach all the way to the edges of the container.

  • This will give you maximum fragrance and an even burn. If you do not allow the wax to pool on the first burn you may get wax remaining along the sides of your container.

  • Always trim your wick to about 6-8mm before you re-light your candle. This will ensure a long lasting candle, minimise soot and remove any mushrooming of the wick left from the previous burn.  be sure not to over trim your wick as you may not be able to re-light your candle.

  • If you do not trim the wick regularly, if the candle is in a draft or is left to burn too long you may get a “mushroom” effect on the end of the wick. This may cause some soot to collect on the inside of the container. If this happens, extinguish your candle, wait for it to cool, wipe off the carbon marks with a clean damp cloth and re-light.

  • All our candles are hand poured,. Although all effort is made to ensure consistency, every candle will be slightly different.

  • REED DIFFUSER INSTRUCTIONS
Place the reed sticks in the oil and allow them to sit for one hour.  By the end of the hour, you should start to notice the sticks slowly absorbing the oil.  Flip the reeds over to saturate the top part of the reeds that stick out above oil level. This helps to speed up the process of the oil soaking up from the bottom diffusing through the entire reed.
Place your reed diffuser somewhere suitable in your home. Place it where it won't be knocked or investigated by curious children or pets. Be sure to keep it well away from electrical appliances too, in case of a spill. Expect a light fragrance to start perfuming your room within 24 hours.
Don't use the same diffuser reeds when changing to a different diffuser oil, as the reeds will be clogged with the scent from the previous diffuser oil. Be sure to wash out your glass bottle (vinegar works well) before changing scents to avoid cross contamination of diffuser oils.

    Warning:
Do Not light the diffuser reeds.
Ensure your reed diffuser is placed out of reach of children and pets in an area where it will not be easily knocked over. If spilt, the mixture may stain surfaces.
